“Thank you to everyone that supported us. This award is dedicated to all the coaches who gave everything this year, to the fighters who showed great dedication to the sport in training & in competition, & the supporters who followed us all around the country to cheer us on. Thank you all for making this a great year for MMA Lucan”
Irish MMA Promotion of the year winner: Clan Wars
We caught up with Paul Mc Laughlin to get his thoughts on there win and this is what he had to say:
“This award has topped off a fantastic 2011 for Clan Wars and the IFS Team who are a big part of making Clan Wars what it is today. We have no heirs and graces and are not full time promoters, we are just regular Joes from a club thats happy to keep its heads down, work hard and try to put on quality shows for the fans. I would also like to give out a shout to other quality shows this year such as Chaos, Man of War,Rush,Sprawl and Battlezone for example.
Cage Contender and Cage Warriors too of course but especially the others as they do not get the praise or recognition they deserve,I am also looking forward to the return of Cage Wars!!
Well done to all Irish promotions in 2011!!
Thanks again for everyone who voted for Clan Wars for fighthounds promotion of the year, its very much appreciated, we hope to continue putting on entertaining shows for the Clan Wars fans for 2012!!
P.S – One last note for fight hounds – try and get some of the northern clubs into the mix for clubs of the year next year – FAI are tearing it up, Next Gen NI and Evolve also and IFS are doing the biz to name a few….watch this space for 2012 lol thanks guys!”Irish MMA Coach of the year winner: John Kavanagh

Irish MMA Website of the year winner: Fight Hounds
We caught up with a Fight Hound’s Alan Keane to get his thoughts on there win and this is what he had to say:
“It’s a real honor for me personally having joined the Fight Hounds team quite recently and hopefully I’ve added something to the great work the guys were already doing.
Overall it has it has been a momentous year for MMA. From the rise of Jon Jones and the retirement of Randy Couture to the UFC buying up the WEC and Strikeforce and signing its network deal with Fox, 2011 has seen MMA hit the mainstream. This has been prevalent in Ireland more than most places, with Irish MMA now regularly televised on Sky and other channels under the banners of organizations like Cage Contender and IFS. Fighters like Aishling Daly and Conor McGregor have really carried the torch for Irish MMA and 2012 will no doubt be even better as the likes of Peter Queally and Decky Dalton progress in their pro careers.
Stay tuned to Fighthounds.com for the best coverage of MMA home and abroad. Happy new year folks.”
