1. Fight Hounds 2010 End Of Year Irish MMA Awards. RESULTS!

    Dec. 25, 2010

This year Fight Hounds hosted the first ever Fight Hounds End Of  Year Irish MMA Awards. This was done in 10 days as a bit of fun. In those two weeks 2465 people voted and everyone here at Fight Hounds would like to thank those 2465 people for taking the time out to vote. We would also like to congratulate all the winners. The Fight Hounds End Of  Year Irish MMA Awards was a great success and we plan on doing the same next year.

Irish MMA Club of the year winner: Straight Blast Gym Ireland

We caught up with John Kavanagh (BJJ coach at SBG Ireland) to get his thoughts on there win and this is what he had to say:

Thanks very much for both awards :) I hope our success continues next year!

Irish MMA Website of the year winner: Fight Hounds

We caught up with a member of the Fight Hounds staff to get his thoughts on there win and this is what he had to say:

First off (WE DID NOT FIX THE VOTES TO WIN) lol, on a serious note I would just like to thank everyone who voted for us and I would also like to thank the ones who did not. These awards were just set up as a bit of fun and we were so happy with the amount of people who took the time out to vote. I would like to thank all the Irish clubs, promoters & fighters as without them then Fighthounds.com would not be around.

Irish MMA Promotion of the year winner: Cage Contender

We caught up with John Ferguson (CEO of Cage Contender) to get his thoughts on there win and this is what he had to say:

Thanks to everyone for voting for Cage Contender in these awards,

I am over the moon with the result. When i think that Cage Contender is only 15 months old and has come so far it makes me proud.

When I came into this industry I made it very clear what my aims were, I am well on my way to those goals now and have done everything I have said I would along the way. I feel the fact that we got 68% of the vote puts our winning beyond doubt.

I was shocked that we won because we are the only Irish MMA Promotion not connected directly to a club, which in theory should mean that their members vote for them. This award is as much for the Cage Contender team as it is for me, so a massive thanks to those guys who really make it happen!!

Irish MMA Coach of the year winner: John Kavanagh

We caught up with John Kavanagh to get his thoughts on his win and this is what he had to say:

Thanks very much for both awards :) I hope my success continues next year!

Irish MMA Fighter of the year winner: Aisling Daly

We caught up with Ais Daly to get her thoughts on her win and this is what she had to say:

This is amazing! I certainly didn’t expect that.
